1883

It was founded by Gottlieb Hauser, who was an independent watchmaker in Switzerland and had great difficulty obtaining spare parts and materials for his watches. After a few years of hard work, he came up with the idea of creating a member association of watchmakers in Switzerland who could then collectively share parts, materials and ideas. That was when he founded the "Swiss watchmaking company Alpina". This led to the unification of the most prominent independent Swiss watchmakers who later became known as the “Alpine Climbers.” The Alpina watch logo was inspired by the Matterhorn mountain in Switzerland, which reaches a height of 4,478 meters above sea level. The mountain overlooks the Swiss city of Zermatt and includes one of the highest peaks. in Europe. Its beautiful peak and snow frame make it one of the most attractive mountains in the Aosta Valley.

1908: The Alpina Association celebrated its 25th anniversary. The “Alpina” trademark was registered and first appeared on high-end calibres and watches produced by Gottlieb Hauser. 1938

The Alpina 4 was announced and released, which was the precursor to the legendary sports watch. It was called the Alpina 4 because it had four main features, namely: magnet-resistant, which helps the movement keep time and not magnetize anything electrical, water-resistant, which has a seal that allows it to be worn during snow sports, and shock-resistant, which allows it to be exposed to impacts. 1969: Alpina launched its diver's watch as the “10 Seastrong” and it was the professional diving watch of its time! It was self-caliber and fitted with 17 jewels. The watch had two crowns, one setting the decompression time through a -60-minute rotating bezel and the other used to set the time. Both had waterproof seals.
